LONDONDERRY
One of the finest examples of Walled Cities in Europe dating back to the early seventeenth century, Londonderry is steeped in history. St.Columb's Cathedral and Chapter House Museum - the most historic building in the city, was built in 1633. The Tower Museum illustrates the history of the city from the famous siege of 1690, through the potato famine, up to the present day. Go to the Exchange Wine Bar next door to the historic Guild Hall for a delicious lunch.

STRABANE
Attractive market town, home to Gray Printers Museum, which explores local history through themes such as the railways, famous connections and the canal. It offers a modern museum and gallery facility with displays of local arts and crafts. The National Trust operates an impressive audio visual display entitled "The Power of Print." Other attractions around Strabane are The Sperrin Heritage Centre, The Wilson Ancestral Home and the village of Sion Mills, with its old flax mill and many interesting churches.

OMAGH - THE ULSTER AMERICAN FOLK PARK
Based on the A5 between Newtownstewart and Omagh, the Folk Park gives the visitor an experience of life for the emigrant. The museum shows how people travelled to America and the settlements that they built on arrival. The Centre for Migration Studies is within the complex, allowing research into family history.

LIFFORD - CO. DONEGAL
Lifford Courthouse built in 1746 is one of the oldest and finest courthouses in Ireland. It tells the story of the Flight of the Earls, The Plantation of Ulster, The Rebellion of 1641 and the William/Jacobite Wars. There is a captivating audio-visual display re-enacting some of the famous trials of the 18th Century. There is also a harrowing visit to the original dungeons where conditions are all too lifelike!

DONEGAL TOWN
The main town on Donegal's west coast is the gateway to Sligo and the West of Ireland. It is home to Magee's shop which is famous for its large range of Donegal Tweed.

ANGLING
The Foyle system is one of the most prolific Salmon fisheries in Europe, it has an abundance of Salmon, Sea Trout, and Brown Trout. The Mourne, Owenkellew, and Glenelly rivers provide classic spate river angling, while the Camowen and Owenreagh rivers provide fantastic opportunities to the game angler.

HILLWALKING
Strabane District Hillwalks Programme: Hillwalkers will have the opportunity to explore the landscape, ecology and archaeology of West Tyrone in the company of an experienced upland guide. There are also self-guided walks with a set of route cards detailing 5 walking options in the Western Sperrins.

CYCLING
The National Cycle Network affords a 21 mile cycle route, linking Derry to the border towns of Lifford ,Carrigans and St. Johnston. After reaching Lifford the route passes the magnificent "Let the Dance Begin Sculpture" and finishes in Strabane.
