Welcome to Carricklee Country House Ireland
Built circa 1780 Carricklee House has been
in the Herdman family for five generations, since James
Herdman first built the historic flax-spinning mill in Sion
Mills in 1835. It stands in 5 acres of mature gardens overlooking
the Finn River and the hills of Donegal. The stables, built
by W F Unsworth
are registered as a historic building, and the surrounding
garden and woodland provide delightful walks.
The house, which has been extended
during the 1860's, is elegantly furnished to a high standard.

Carricklee is only 3 minutes
from the main A5 road which is part of the North-West Passage
tourist route which runs from Dublin to Donegal. It is surrounded
by some of the world's best salmon rivers and has three
18 hole golf courses within 10 minutes drive. The many Championship
links courses of Donegal are also very accessible.
